The spark that ignited a lifelong passion for design leaped to life when Linda Rodgers was only fourteen. She took a job in the design room of an East Coast florist and what she learned there changed her life. Linda discovered her gift and she was determined to share it with others. Still in her teens, Linda began designing wedding and party floral arrangements. At first it was just for friends. But soon, she had friends of friends and then businesses begging for her unique designs. In 1990, she put this passion to work full time. Flowers by Linda had its first home as so many valley success stories have, in a garage.

A decade after her business was born in that tiny Mountain View garage, Linda is often called by her legions of repeat customers, "The Best Florist in the Valley," and have called on her designs for visiting dignitaries including Colin Powell, President Clinton and the Prime Minister of Ireland. Her ability to put customers at ease and work with them, sometimes on very short notice, designing one-of-a-kind creations is legendary. Her designs are original and tailored to the desires and sensibilities of each customer. No cookie cutter arrangements allowed! Her quest for unusual and high quality flowers takes her to floral markets all around the bay area several times a week. She still insists on doing her own buying and design.

A common theme running through mounds of thank you letters from customers is that of the uniqueness of Linda's designs. More often than not, her arrangements exceed the high expectations of the fussiest customers. They effuse with words such as "gorgeous", "excellent", "extraordinary", and "exciting".

Whether corporate customer, local hotel, or private individual, Linda has developed a loyal and continually pleased following. A studio stocked with high-quality photographs and samples of her work offers assurance to first time customers. All this and she still finds time for running marathons and raising Arabian horses.
